Cost - $115 per athlete for all sessions

Location - Benton High School

Camp will feature Lehigh Coaches Pat Santoro, John Hughes, Brad Dillon, & Jason Kutz. Also Lehigh Wrestlers Joe Kennedy, Robert Hamlin, & Brandon Hatchett.

On May 25th, Lehigh University Head Coach Pat Santoro will be at BTWC for club practice! This is a great opportunity for all wrestlers to learn from one of the best!

On Thursday May 20th, BTWC will welcome its second Olympian as a guest Techinician this srping. Teague Moore (Head Coach of Clarion University) will be as a guest clinician. Also, on Tuesday May 18th, BTWC will welcome back Asst. Coach of Lehigh University John Hughes for his second trip to BTWC.

BTWC NEWS:

On April 15th Robbie Waller of Lock Haven University will be in to give a technique session! Coach Waller previously was a 2003 NCAA National Champion and a 2x NCAA All-American at Oklahoma University. Coach Waller was also a PIAA State Champion in 1998, 2x PIAA State Runner-up, and a FILA Junior Freestyle Champion.

Please remember if you are not a club member, but would like to come to this session all you need is a USA Wrestling Card and $10. Bring a friend!

Booster Club News:

Help is needed on April 17th from 9:00am onward selling hamburger and hotdogs to fishermen in support of Benton Wrestling. This stand will be set up at D.R.'s.

Also for sale will be Gun Raffle tickets. These tickets will be on sale all year until next February 2011. These tickets will be on sale for $20. On Tuesday, April 13th, Sunny Abe (Head Coach of Pittsburgh Central Catholic) will be giving a technique session. Sunny previously was an Olympian for Japan (1996), 1996 NCAA National Champion at Penn St., 4x NCAA All-American at PSU, 2x Big Ten Champion (PSU), 3x Japanese World team Member, and a 1995 Asian Games Gold Medalist.

Eric Hess Update:

Dear Family and friends,

Thank you all for your continued prayers for Eric. . .they give us hope and reaffirm the goodness that is in each one of us. Today we were notified that Eric has Hodgkins Lymphoma. He has yet to be "staged" with the disease as he has to do a few more tests and have minor surgery for a medaport (a port to have his chemotherapy through) This diagnosis is an answer to prayer as Hodgkins usually has a favorable prognosis. I (Eric's mom, Suzanne) have faced this cancer 16 years ago and have been in remission for years.(Yet another blessing.)

The next few days offer different challenges as we have to change physicians, have more testing done, and more surgery, but we are faithful that God will be there opening every door that needs to be opened, closing those that need closed, and giving Shane and I the peace that we are pursuing the right course of treatment for Eric.

I would like to thank everyone for the kind words regarding Eric, it means a lot to us to hear such positive and wonderful things about him. It is reflection of those around him so thank you to our family, Eric's coaches, his teammates, our church, and his teachers for always being a positive influence on him. He will need to draw on all that he has be taught in these next few months and we know that you all will be here with him every step of the way. Most importantly he will rely on and draw strength from our Lord and Savior.

Several years ago Eric was travelling with the Ohio All Star Team I would always text him GSP2U. . . God's Strength and Power to You. This will continue to be my personal call for Eric. God's strength will uphold him in the struggles and the down times and his power will sustain him until he is completely recovered.

Eric's attitude is positive, so if you should cross his path, please be reassured that he not upset. (We have had our time and realize there is no use being upset, angry, and negative.) Stay positive with him, encourage him in his fight, and continue to treat him normally.

Our gratitude is abundantly and overwhelmingly given to each and every one of you.

Update on Eric Hess:

Eric Hess will be discharged form the hospital today at approx. 10:30 am.

Eric is very excited to be going home to be with his little sisters for Easter.

Although we would have brought Easter to him...it is very exciting news to be having Easter at home with his family.

The results from his biopsy should be known within the next week and either I, Eric, his parents or Ms. Charles will be giving updates at the discretion of his Eric and his parents.

Eric, his mother, and father have been inspired by the outpouring of support and encouragement. They ask that anyone wanting to see Eric when he gets home to please call first.

Any questions can be directed to me harpuapa@live.com for today as to no bother him or his parents on Easter.

Update on Eric Hess:

"As I told you in the last post [on the D4 Forum], Eric has a malignant tumor in his chest. Tests have been done and they did come back with positive news. Bone scans yesterday came back negative. Ultra sounds came back negative. Today [April1, 2010], the results of the cat scans came back negative. There are no signs of trouble in his head, neck, abdomen or pelvis areas. This is great news and a big step in the direction we want to go.

He is scheduled for biopsy tomorrow [April 2, 2010] morning. He is currently at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. There have been no surgeries performed. We have been hearing rumors of a lot of stories that are not true.

Please do not spread any rumors or take anything you hear as the truth. The facts will be posted on here by me as we move forward.

Eric, his Mother, and his Father are very appreciative of the outpouring of support that the family has received thus far. They appreciate your respect and ask you keep the support coming."

Thank you to everyone who participated or helped at Sunday's Qualifier in Benton! This was one of the most successful years yet!
Practice will continue this week on Tuesday and Thursday.
Anyone still interested in joining the club may still join!
Anyone interested in coming on one night may do so, but will have to pay $10 and must have a valid USA Wrestling Card
We will be updating everyone when we have pinned down our dates for our guest clinicians!
